What you will work on

  1. Get comfortable with the controls

Practise moving away, slowing down and stopping smoothly. Learn how the automatic car responds before building up to more demanding situations.

  2. Read the road ahead

Work on mirrors, observation, positioning and planning. Removing manual gear changes does not remove the need to judge speed, space and other road users.

  3. Build independent decisions

Develop your approach to junctions, roundabouts and manoeuvres as your confidence grows. Your instructor can identify what needs more practice before test preparation.

Can I switch from manual lessons?

Tell us about your previous lessons when you get in touch. The intro lesson gives us a chance to assess your current driving, help you get used to an automatic car and recommend where to focus next.
