Driving Lesson Terms & Conditions

Welcome to The Only Way Driving School. To ensure a smooth, professional experience, all bookings are subject to the following terms.

1. Lesson Bookings & Payments

Payment in advance

All lessons and block bookings must be paid in full via our secure Stripe link before being confirmed.

Klarna instalments

Payments can be split into 3 equal instalments at no extra cost with Klarna.

Assessment lesson fees

The 2-hour assessment lesson is £100 for manual, £110 for automatic.

2-hour minimum

All sessions have a 2-hour minimum duration.

Block validity

Prepaid 10-hour blocks must be used within 6 months of purchase. Unused hours after this period are non-refundable.

2. Rescheduling & Package Cancellations

All rescheduling requests must go through The Only Way directly, not your instructor. This ensures every change is confirmed properly and nothing is missed.

48 hours’ notice or more

No charge; your session can be freely rearranged.

Less than 48 hours’ notice, or a no-show

The full session is charged, or 2 hours are deducted from your block.

If we need to cancel

If there is an instructor emergency, vehicle issue, or extreme weather, you lose nothing, and we’ll rearrange at the next mutual convenience.

Under 10 hours used

Hours used are charged at the standard pay-as-you-go rate, and the remaining balance is refunded.

10 or more hours used

Hours used are charged at the package’s rate, and any remaining balance is refunded.

Manual refund calculations

A £15 admin fee applies to any cancellation requiring a manual refund calculation, deducted from the refund itself.

3. On the Day of Your Lesson

Provisional licence check

You must hold a valid UK provisional licence, checked at your first session. You cannot legally drive without it.

Fit to drive

You must be fit to drive. If you’re under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication causing drowsiness, the lesson is ended immediately and the full fee is forfeited.

Punctuality

Your instructor will wait 15 minutes at the pickup address. After that, the lesson is cancelled and charged in full.

4. Practical Driving Tests

Booked separately

Test day is booked and paid separately from your regular lessons.

What test day includes

It includes a warm-up drive before your test, travel to the test centre, and the test itself. This takes at least 3 hours.

Duration and price

The exact duration and price depend on your test centre location, since travel time varies. We’ll confirm the final price once your test centre and time are known.

Instructor approval

You must not book a test using our instructor’s vehicle without agreeing this with them first. The instructor may withhold the car if they feel you’re not yet test-ready, or if it clashes with another booking.

5. Pass Wall Consent

Celebrating your pass

When you pass your test, we’d love to celebrate it. With your permission, this may include adding your photo and first name to our Pass Wall, on our website and social media.

Opting out

You are opted in by default. If you do not want to be included, tell us and we will leave your photo off.
